Balayage that actually looks natural.
Balayage is French for "to sweep" — and that is exactly the touch it takes. Rob hand-paints lightener freehand to grow soft, sunlit dimension that looks like you spent the summer outdoors, not in a salon chair.
The result is lived-in, low-maintenance color with no harsh regrowth line — so you can stretch months between appointments.
What makes balayage different
Traditional foil highlights start high and grow out with a visible line. Balayage is painted by hand and feathered toward the roots, so it blends as it grows. That means fewer touch-ups, gentler placement, and a result tailored to how your hair actually falls.
Rob places every piece with intention — brightness around the face, depth underneath, a finish that flatters your features.
The process
It starts with a consultation to understand your base, your goals and your upkeep. Rob then hand-paints the lightener, processes it to the right level, and finishes with a custom toner or gloss so the dimension reads soft and expensive — never brassy.
35 years behind the chair
Placement is everything in balayage, and placement is a skill that only deepens with experience. Three and a half decades in, Rob knows exactly where light should fall on your hair.
Good to know
Balayage questions.
How much does balayage cost in Colorado Springs?
It varies with length, density and how much lift you want. Rob quotes you directly at the consultation. Call or text (719) 356-5667 for an estimate.
How long does balayage last?
Because it grows out softly, most clients stretch 3–4 months (or longer) between balayage sessions, with an occasional gloss to refresh the tone in between.
Is balayage less damaging than foil highlights?
It can be gentler because the lightener is feathered rather than saturated to the root, and Rob controls lift carefully. Bond-building treatments are available to keep hair healthy.
How is balayage different from ombré or highlights?
Highlights are sectioned in foils; ombré is a bottom-heavy fade; balayage is freehand painting for natural, all-over dimension. Rob will recommend the right approach for your hair at the consultation.
